IEC enclosure protection requirements are defined in IEC 60529, Degree of protection provided by enclosures (IP Code). This standard defines protection against hazardous contact by personnel and by entry by solids and liquids. Requirements for protection against corrosion and other in-use conditions are covered by the IEC standard for the overall product or by requirement specified by the user.
