Self-Sealing Locking Nuts

These self-sealing locking nuts are installed like any ordinary nut. A high-pressure seal is formed along the thread’s contact-surface when torqued. There is no need for gaskets or sealants of any kind. Fully adjustable and reusable, they can be mounted either on top or below the installation surface as shown in the illustrations below.

Self-Sealing Screws & Bolts

To ensure maximum sealing performance and re-usability, we recommend creating a clearance hole where sufficient metal thickness exists, per the detailed drawings below. A clearance hole assists the sealing process by creating room for the O-Ring to migrate into when torqueing. (See torque chart). The goal is to achieve full metal-to-metal contact between the fastener head underside and the outside mounting surface as shown in the diagram. Should your application have insufficient thickness, the O-Ring will still function as it will squeeze into the shank and threaded surface area.

Self-Sealing Washers

These washers are designed for use with regular screws or bolts for sealing panels and cases having large clearance holes/slots and protrusion openings as shown below. The sealing function is assisted by two concentric ridges – the middle ridge (washer hole) forms a seal for the screw or bolt head contact surface – the outer ridge rests on and secures the mounting hole’s perimeter.
