RoHS DECLARATIONS OF CONFORMANCE
RoHS Directive Compliance General “RoHS” stands for “Restriction of Hazardous Substances”, as defined by the European Union Directive # 2011/65/EU dated 8-June-2011 . This Directive is a legal document that prohibits new electrical and electronic equipment put on the market in the European Union from containing certain amounts of lead, mercury, cadmium, hexvalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyls (PBB) or polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDE).

The “RoHS” Directive compliments the European Union “Waste Electrical & Electronic Equipment” (WEEE) directive. APM Hexseal’s products represent more than 50 years of research and product development. We strive to provide products and services that exceed our customers’ expectations and are committed to helping our customers select products that will meet the RoHS directive, as well as help you comply with the WEEE directive.

Following is general guidance information. APM Corp. supplies many custom products and finishes. Please consult with us regarding any questionable materials and/or finishes.

Toggle & Pushbutton Switch Boots:
Standard threaded inserts are nickel-plated or black oxide-finished brass, aluminum or stainless steel and are RoHS compliant. The standard protective boots are silicone rubber and are RoHS compliant. Other RoHS-compliant materials are available on request.

Rotary Shaft Seals:
Standard threaded inserts are nickel-plated or black oxide-finished brass or stainless steel and are RoHS compliant. The standard shaft seals are silicone rubber and are RoHS compliant. Other RoHS-compliant materials are available on request.

Economy “Snapseels” Switch & Rotary Shaft Seals:
Standard threaded inserts are aluminum and are RoHS compliant. The shaft seals are neoprene rubber and are RoHS compliant.

“Seeloc” Self-Sealing Washers:
Standard washer material is stainless steel and is RoHS compliant. The standard seals are silicone rubber and are RoHS compliant. Other RoHS-compliant materials are available on request.

“Seelrings” Molded Elastomeric O-Rings:
O-ring material can be silicone rubber.fluorosilicone rubber, Viton A, Buna N (Nitrile), Neoprene, or Ethylene Propylene (EPDM) and are all RoHS compliant.

“Seelskrew”, “Seelbolt” and “Seelnut” Fasteners:
Threaded parts are either nickel-plated brass, zinc-plated steel or stainless steel and are RoHS compliant. The standard sealing rings are silicone rubber and are RoHS compliant. Standard “Seelnuts” use a molded silicone rubber as standard. Other RoHS-compliant materials are available on request.

“Seelrivets” High-pressure, Self-sealing Rivets:
Rivet material is anodized aluminum and is RoHS compliant. The standard sealing rings are silicone rubber and are RoHS compliant.

Sealing Boots for Lever-Actuated Circuit Breakers:
The standard sealing boot is silicone rubber and is RoHS compliant. The frame/ flange is manufactured using RoHS-compliant plated steel or stainless steel, which is RoHS compliant.

About APM's Sealing Boots Division:
The Electronics Division of APM HEXSEAL develops and manufactures environmental protection sealing components for controls that are mounted on switches, potentiometers, encoders, and circuit breakers. Using advanced elastomer molding technology, a broad range of sealing boots are produced to match most controls manufactures’ standard part numbers. Most are IP66/68 ingress protection rated and UL Recognized as meeting applicable Canadian and USA enclosure protection standards.

About APM's Self-Sealing Fastener Division:
The APM line of high-pressure, reusable, self-sealing fasteners includes self-sealing screws, self-sealing nuts, self-sealing bolts, self-sealing rivets, and self-sealing washers, all designed to seal in/out air, water, lubricants and other liquid or gaseous contaminants. This sealing hardware is available in Imperial (inch) and metric sizes with various sealing material and thread-locking options, most of which are UL Recognized Components for Canada and the USA.
